Recently, Sunny SmartLead, a core subsidiary of the Sunny Optical Technology, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Microchip, a globally leading semiconductor solutions provider. Sunny SmartLead is introducing Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) camera modules built on ASA-ML serializer/ deserializer devices of Microchip’s VS700 family. Designed for the global automotive industry, these modules aim to enable safer, more efficient and more cost-effective standardized solutions for ADAS.

These modules incorporate Microchip's ASA-ML (Automotive SerDes Alliance Motion Link) technology. ASA-ML is an interoperable in-vehicle connectivity architecture that offers automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers a robust alternative to proprietary serializer/deserializer technologies, driving the industry towards openness and standardized solutions.

In terms of technical performance, ASA-ML has two core advantages. The first is an integrated secure element (ASAsec), which provides link-layer encryption and authentication, reducing system complexity and offloading security processing from the host processor. The second is Precision Time Base (PTB), which enables deterministic time synchronization across sensors, ensuring precise data alignment and providing reliable support for ADAS fusion applications. These features enable Sunny SmartLead's camera modules to fulfill the stringent requirements of software-defined vehicles for secure, real-time, and scalable vision systems.

The newly launched camera modules integrate Microchip's VS775S ASA-ML serializer, supporting rapid prototyping and evaluation. The partnership is helping OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers accelerate the development of standardized, interoperable ADAS camera architectures.
