Recently, the "General Technical Specifications for Silicon Photonic Solid-State LiDAR" (T/CIET 2172—2025), primarily drafted by Sunny Automotive Optech (a core subsidiary of Sunny Optical Technology), was officially released and implemented. This standard is managed by the China International Economic and Technological Cooperation Promotion Association.
The released specifications establish a unified technical framework covering key aspects such as product design, manufacturing, testing, and application. In terms of performance metrics, it standardizes core parameters including ranging distance, angular resolution and field of view, while also providing uniform definitions for related performance indicators, thereby offering a foundational evaluation basis for silicon photonic solid-state LiDAR.
Silicon photonic solid-state LiDAR is based on silicon photonic technology, integrating functions such as area array receiving and signal processing onto a single chip. It achieves 3D point cloud imaging and information measurement through non-mechanical scanning, representing an important development direction for intelligent driving applications. As this technology is still in the exploratory stage of industry development, the release of the specifications aims to provide a reference and guidance for industry enterprises in product development and technical validation.
Looking forward, Sunny Automotive Optech will continue to promote the coordinated development of cutting-edge technology and standard systems, accelerate the deployment of LiDAR in intelligent driving scenarios, and provide solid support for the high-quality development of the industry.
