Recently, the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology officially released the "Notice on Announcing the List of Ningbo's First Piece (Set) Equipment for 2025." The "Integrated Active Alignment (AA) Equipment for LiDAR Transmitter and Receiver," self-developed by Sunny Optical Technology's core subsidiary, Sunny Automotive Optech, was recognized as "Provincial First Piece (Set) Equipment." This achievement marks a significant breakthrough for China in the field of key equipment for mass production of automotive LiDAR, breaking long-standing foreign technological monopoly.
The recognition of "First Piece (Set)" equipment in Zhejiang Province aims to encourage enterprises to develop major innovative equipment with independent intellectual property rights and technology at or above the domestic leading level. It serves as a key indicator of a company's core competitiveness and the high-quality development level of the manufacturing industry.
Amid the wave of intelligent driving, LiDAR precision AA equipment is a critical link determining product performance and mass production yield. Previously, this field relied heavily on imports for a long time, facing issues such as high costs, slow responsiveness, and risks of supply chain constraints. Sunny Automotive Optech successfully overcame multiple core technologies, including high-precision AA algorithms, non-imaging system evaluation, and multi-focal-distance optical detection. They innovatively developed a calibration solution for the receiver-end without a circuit system, creating China's first fully independent intellectual property-integrated AA equipment for LiDAR transmitters and receivers. This equipment achieves micrometer-level alignment accuracy, with efficiency improved by more than three times compared to traditional methods, significantly reduces production costs. It boasts excellent compatibility and scalability, meeting the demands for large-scale mass production of automotive LiDAR. The relevant technologies of the equipment have obtained 5 invention patents and 3 utility model patents, with overall technology reaching international advanced levels. It pioneers a new technical route for non-imaging high-precision AA in LiDAR.
